The Guiding Holy Spirit

THE GUIDING HOLY SPIRIT

What does it mean when Scripture tells us the Holy Spirit abides in us?

It meansyou are letting God into your heart and your soul. The Holy Spirit is our helper and counselor. It is His ability that empowers us to resist sin and obey God. He helps us interpret Scripture and enables us to fellowship with the Lord. Without Him, no one can have a genuinely fruitful Christian life. The Spirit can give us the right words to encourage a hurting person, or lead us to do something unusually kind for a stranger.

It's Okay- Cry

                                                                     It's Okay -Cry

When you hurt the worst, it's ok go to your spiritual prayer closet and weep those tears of bitterness out of you.

Respect the Scriptures

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Bible is an essential life- manual for Christians. From it we draw guidance, hope,  patience and everything necessary for spiritual development. However the Bible is often abused, even by those who acknowledge it as the Word of God. The Bible encompasses the whole world, but it also speaks deeply to the individual soul.

Congraulations Micah - Grna loves you

ALetter To My Grandson Micah,
My dear sweet, sweet Grandson I must tell you that it has been an honor to teach you what you needed to know this past school year in preschool. We had alot of laughs, irritations, high fives and knuckles. I first want to say I am so proud of you and that I learned so much myself this past year by letting you teach me also. There would be days that I just did not want to have school and you would come up to me and say Grandma I want grow up and be smart and confident like you.

Deeper and Deeper

I love taking time going through one of the many songbooks I have of Gospel Hymns and their stories. On certain mornings or evenings while doing my journaling and reading His Word I still feel as though there is more out there for me to read to get to that feeling of truly worshiping Him. Tonight was no different I read Psalms 40 and actually highlighted verse 8- I desire to do... your will, O my God: your law is within my heart. Just this one verse says so much regarding the desire that each one of us should have in order to do our Lords will.

Standing before Him

Like I wrote on the front page of my web site sometimes things I post will be random.. and this one is...

Picture yourself walking among the roses and jasmine and you stop for a moment and that is when you notice the smell rising up into a sweet aroma and there you are once a sinful person is now about to fellowship like none other with God!! Just like Adam and Eve once did walking side by side now here you are walking or perhaps feeling like you are floating as the Holiness of His presence is so strongly captivating and calming.

Devote yourselves to prayer...

Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving: NASB

I just love all the different versions of the bible when it comes to certain passages like today's. In the Message Bible it reads:Pray diligently. Stay alert, with your eyes wide open in gratitude. Or in the NIV version it says it this way-Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.I chose the NASB version because I like the word attitude which if we are all honest with ourselves we all can have an attitude of some sorts and most of the time it's not one of thanksgiving.

Is God pleased with your Integrity?

"I know, my God, that You test the heart and are pleased with integrity."- 1 Chronicles 29:17a

Now there may be comments back on this but I believe that God does test us in our hearts and looks for the uprightness of ourselves. Even though it may be a struggle on some days you and I can both ask God for His mercy, grace and love when we may have been a bit heavy on our attitude. Our Father also looks to see how we are using our gifts/ giving our offerings to the church and if so is it with a good heart.

It Is Well With My Soul

It Is WellWith My Soul

The precise timing of God is always amazing to me.He knows, he sees, he hears and he cares what is going onin every life and in every event that concerns us. He is always near to comfort and renew our spirits, when we feel in need of assistance and to impart wisdomwhen we ask.The key here is we need to remember to ask Him and to always remember to praise God for His mercies that are new every morning to give us renewed strength and vigor.

This year has been particularly hard on me not only physically, emotionally but also spiritually.
