A Sweet Perfume
A Sweet Perfume
This week as we gather with family and friends for Thanksgiving let us be reminded of the sweet fragrance we can be to others.
Follow God's example therefore, as dearly loved children andwalk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us asa fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2
Do any of you just get so frustrated and are getting ready to lose that one last nerve left in your body when someone will wave you over and want to share with you all their happy talk? Meanwhile, your staring at the person in front of you watching their mouth moving but you can't hear them because you are wallowing in your own unhappiness.
Our bad attitude and critical spirit spreads like a bad odor to those who come into contact with you and then on top of that you are pulling others down to your selfish level. If you remember doing this to others then I am sure you don't see a pretty picture.
However, the opposite is also true. If I can maintain a positive attitude and make a real effort to treat all I meet with love and kindness, that will also spread to others. Oh, what a joy it is to be able to spread to others the love of God. By allowing God's love to flow through me (us), We can be like a sweet perfume to others so they will be better off by having been with me(us).
So as you eat your turkey, toast your glasses together and ask for one more piece of pumpkin pie check your own humble pie and remember this quote from Mother Teresa "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier. "
Happy Thanksgiving,
Joyfully,
Cindy
