It Is Well With My Soul
It Is WellWith My Soul
The precise timing of God is always amazing to me. He knows, he sees, he hears and he cares what is going on in every life and in every event that concerns us. He is always near to comfort and renew our spirits, when we feel in need of assistance and to impart wisdom when we ask. The key here is we need to remember to ask Him and to always remember to praise God for His mercies that are new every morning to give us renewed strength and vigor.
This year has been particularly hard on me not only physically, emotionally but also spiritually. I would be lying if I said that everything is fine when I have stood in front of my bathroom mirror with tears streaming down my face from either physical pain or from being depressed from the bathroom scale showing yet another pound higher. My medications for my Lupus and fibromyalgia have been changed more than once this year which throws off everything within my body and my mind. What's worse is while all of this upset of changes is going on I found myself angry at Godfor not healing me or stopping the doctors from changing my medicine again and again. It took me from January 3rd of this year until May 1st to stop feeling sorry for myself and to realize again that He does care and He is always nearto comfort me but only can if I am open and honest and willing to ask for His forgiveness from my sin of blaming Him for not healing me or for not allowing the right doctors to care for me.
It also was May 1stwhen I heard the song "It Is Well With My Soul"..I had been listening to some old Hymnal songs on the radio that comes from my TV and was so touched by this song and the words that I looked up who wrote the lyrics and what his story was regarding the words that he wrote. The first verse of the song is When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Horatio Spafford author of the lyrics lost not only his only son to scarlet fever but also lost his 4 daughters to the sea due from a tragic accident from the ship they were on along with 216 other passengers. Here, is this man who has lostall his children and yet he can write and praise God for his life. No, myalmost first half of this year is in no way close to what this man had lost or gone through but what it has in common is the underbelly of what we are to do and that is to give it all over to Him and to seek after Him not only in our good times but most definitely in times of sorrow, depression, sickness, anger and much more..All I am saying is we need to eat carpet when we pray to Him and to remember to ask for renewal of our spirit. I know I am so glad to be on my upward road to the top again and this time make sure that I have Him right next to me.
Blessings & Joy to all of you,
CindyAndrews
