Water is life!
He turned the desert into pools of water and the parchedground into flowing springs (Psalm 107:35)
The last few months have been a roller coaster ride with my everydaydehydration and I mean the kind of thirst that when you go to talk you can't due to the mouth being so dry. Yet, I am having a water retention problem so when you put these two together you have a very dried up feeling of being and looking like the big marshmallow man in Ghost Busters. The doctors say to drink water, water and more water... I already am drinking a couple gallons of water a day and no the doctors said that is not what is causing the bloating. So besides already being a menopausal, bloated dried up 56 year old woman I am also beginning to feel depressed.
Being depressed is new to me as I have always tried to find the joy in everything I come across. But, I am not lost as I fall to knees and cry out to God to not let me go down into the rabbit hole that I see. Instead this thought comes to my head "Renew my mind, dear Father, I feel so sluggish and spent." Then about 10 minutes into praying Romans 8:6 comes to mind.To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
We all know that water is absolutely crucial for survival and success. Water is needed for survival so one does not die of dehydration. Water also is crucial for our success in our spirituality. We can die unless we drink of the water that Jesus offers us. Like the scripture above in Psalm 107:35 says Christ offers us something that only He can give, and through that He changes the barren desert of our lives into a fertile garden, the burning sand into bubbling springs.
Now, even though I thirst for water for my psychical being and the doctors and I are working on correcting this type of thirst my spirituality is being quenched by God's word and daily praying. So let me ask are any of you thirsty, parched, feeling dried up? are you staying in touch with God through praying? John 7:37 says "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink"
Go ahead reach for the living water each day and know this --that whoever drinks the water that Christ gives you will never thirst again (paraphrase) of John 4:14
Joyfully,
Cindy
